The Putnam County Library System will follow the Putnam County School System (PCSS) to the extent that the Putnam County Library in Cookeville, will automatically open one hour late (10:00 a.m.) on days when the PCSS is closed or opening late for inclement weather.

A decision to close for a full day will be made at 8:00 a.m. by Library administrators based on road conditions, weather reports, and staffing levels.

A decision to close early at 4:00 p.m. will be made by Library administrators by 2:00 p.m., so the 4:00 p.m. closing shift will not attempt to come in.

Branch libraries will, if possible, open at their normal times. If the main Library closes early, the branches will also close.
Notification about full day closures will be sent out using social media and local media outlets.
