Lunch and Learn: Heart of the Cumberlands Peer Support with Kim Mendoza

Heart of the Cumberland is a grief peer support group program. In the Putnam County School District, there are 500+ elementary and middle school students who attend our BEST Groups program each year. They are experiencing loss due to a variety of circumstances: death of a loved one, parent’s divorce, foster care placement, living with grandparents, and so much more. Then, our community groups are faith based and serve children, teens, and adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one due to death. School BEST Groups and families from the Upper Cumberland move forward through similar curricula that have been created by Heart of the Cumberland.
